Pre-Theology Program

Two Year, Pre-Theology Certificate Program

The Pre-Theology Program, as designed by the Bishops, is intended to be a propaedeutic period for college graduates to study the Philosophy, Theology and languages necessary for admission to a major seminary.  Students would not necessarily take all of the courses offered each semester, but these courses are offered to comply with the program for pre-theologians as put forward by the bishops of the United States. The offerings also allow for flexibility in programming.

One student may have fulfilled some portion of the bishops’ program, but would benefit from a more in depth study in a particular area. Similarly, another student may be in need of a more basic course of study before he can enter into the full program. The program takes all of these students into consideration. It should be further noted that the program is designed on a two year rotating basis: students will be entering in either year of the program. Whichever year they enter in is considered year one of the program.
